Sharing a small piece of concept art today from a TV show bible I put together after my screenwriting course at MetFilm School. This artefact is a gate blade, mainly used for slicing open rifts between worlds. Magic within the hilt creates gates, golden translucent panes which make stable portals.

Here's a sort of mood board of works which have inspired or are similar to my WIP novel Children of Shadows... Missing from here of course are the many real-world locations that served as equal inspirations!

Volunteering with English Heritage was such a rewarding part of last year. All the research for my writing let me really enjoy talking to the public at North Leigh Roman Villa's open days. To be able to spend so much time at that wonderful site has developed my understanding and confidence.

Today marks ten years since I first met DanTDM and was catapulted down a route of self-publishing. To celebrate, I've released an Anniversary Edition of short stories set within my Diamond Dimensions universe, based on Dan's worlds and characters. Physical copies have arrived!

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #612,178!

It probably took me less time to find all these books than it will to get around to extracting all the information and inspiration from them. Still, I really enjoy researching for my books, and for the universe I'm working on at the moment, all of these are relevant... It's not procrastination...
