In March, central Myanmar was devastated by a 7.7-magnitude earthquake, the strongest the country had experienced since 1912. HB was able to respond immediately with recovery assistance, helping thousands with emergency food and water supplies, and hundreds with temporary or permanent housing.

Through local pastors and ministry leaders supported by Harvest Bridge, the church in Myanmar is providing food, shelter and trauma care. They empower women and provide spiritual support to their communities.

Today marks five years since the military coup in Myanmar.
Since February 1, 2021, the country has endured ongoing violence, conscription of young adults, and widespread poverty. Yet in the midst of civil war, the church continues to serve.

There are concerns that the church has been targeted, as nearby Hindu-owned buildings have not received notices. While Christians in southern India have faced less persecution, recent years have brought increasing pressure as nationalist policies embolden discrimination at local levels.(3/3)

After months of costly demolition and rebuilding to accommodate a city road expansion, the local government has now issued a notice requiring the church to vacate its land entirely. The congregation is appealing this decision, but the uncertainty and financial strain are heavy. (2/3)

Led by Pastor Darpan* in Bangladesh, our local partners recently installed 15 rainwater reserve tanks in communities suffering from extreme water scarcity and flooding.

We are so thankful for the church in Pennsylvania who funded this project!
