I have this problem with White-point, White-speck and White Spot. White-point is the only one I’ve had, but my brain doesn’t like the name for some reason.

I was curious so I did some googling, it seems to be a Latin idiom rather than a title, more fully "Pica cum luscinia certat” i.e. "The magpie is having a [singing] contest with the nightingale.” — for situations where people were wildly outmatched.

Obsidentify has a blind spot with some of the blastobasis species, I think they don’t have as many records in their database yet because they’re from mainland Europe.

Eudemis porphyrana seems to be having a good year, It was new for me this year in south London and I’ve had it on three different nights. Someone else on the Surrey moths facebook group had it NFG as well.

Hmm, looks like it might be Black Arches. L. dispar is somewhat similar; one of the two, anyway.
