I can relate to the desire for all people to have nice places to live in, but does it not strike you as ironic to say this as an American? A country built out of 250 years of waves of migrants fleeing persecution and misery in the old country. Anyway, good luck to you over there...

So I guess one good outcome. The EU will stop enriching a proponent of fascism. Hopefully the institutions might notice that they don't need X.

It's not meant to surprise you, it's meant to remind you that through migration you get many of the world's better educated and motivated workers, in adulthood, and they pay for the privilege of contributing to the economy and paying taxes.

Do we call authoritarianism brilliance now? When Erdogan was doing pretty much the same thing, I don't recall such language. I realize that the analysis in the article is nuanced, but language matters, and brilliance is an endorsement, however reluctant
