Vibe Coders LDN was 🔥

20 lightning demos over healthy poké in Hoxton – games, LinkedIn hacks, workflow agents, “second brains” & more – all vibe-coded by founders, devs, dropouts, VCs.

One legend built a game from scratch _during_ the show.

Tonk uses three simple components:

• Workers: Pull your data (email, calendar, tasks, APIs)
• Store: Private, local-first data hub
• Apps & Agents: Custom tools built over your data

Easy, modular, flexible.

We’ve quietly built Tonk, an alpha-stage CLI tool that makes it simple to build custom dashboards, apps, and AI agents using your own data—minus the backend headaches.

Quick intro 🧵👇

Ok, so vibe coding is officially going from viral to mainstream. So many people have sent me this FT article today.

I sit down every day with vibe coders - in startups, enterprise or just tinkering in their garage - here's what I notice:

Two months ago, on that flight home from Denver, I was looking for a cultural map of London's innovation scenes.

Couldn't find one so I made my own.

Hope it helps you navigate too.

Did I miss anything out?

5. Entrepreneur First. Still such a reliable indicator of high-energy, low-ego, ambitious builders. Kudos to Jonny and Mike who ran the cohort in London I did 2.5 years ago.
April 25, 2025 at 11:34 AM
4. A nascent community of creative technologists and technology-inclined artists (very ✨ tasteful aesthete ✨ vibes) swirling around Sylvan Rackham and William Morgan's Restless Egg whirlpool (watch out - you you'll get sucked in too)
April 25, 2025 at 11:34 AM
3. This nascent, patriotic, brit/acc movement with people like LFG UK, Andrew Bennett, Jack Wiseman, Kitty Mayo, @projecteurope.bsky.social challenging the narrative around UK & EU tech. Hope they inspire another cohort on this sceptered isle to be unreasonably ambitious & creative.
April 25, 2025 at 11:34 AM
2. The Socratica editions bringing together the most creative technologists from @imperialcollegeldn.bsky.social @ox.ac.uk and @cambridgeuni.bsky.social . The last one was held at Newspeak House which is the epicentre for so much in London @edsaperia.bsky.social

1. AI Tinkerers (London edition) run by Louis Knight Webb and @lukeharries.bsky.social. By the builders, for the builders. Homebrew Computer Club of AI in London. @goblinoats.bsky.social showed off the most recent @tonklabs.bsky.social product there a couple nights ago

- parties in investors' basements

- art workshops for creative technologists

- film screenings for technologist-activists
April 25, 2025 at 11:34 AM
Since then been staying up way too late to take part in:

- demo days surfacing the next generation of ambition

- hackathons in the heart of Shoreditch crammed with hundreds of hackers

- lunches with world-class academic researchers

So I tapped my network and attended every single meetup, dinner party and workshop I could find in London.

We had built a world-class, global network of web3 + cryptography experts, but still had work to do back home in London.

My relationships are my best intelligence and strongest spiritual guide.

Two months ago I was flying back from Denver on a red-eye flight.

Gazing down on the sprawling nighttime plains of the Midwest, I realised that we needed to update @tonklabs.bsky.social's relationship-building focus.

PSA: I've done an investigative deep dive and decided my top ranking of innovation scenes in London - i.e. the places in this city where you'll find the most talented & hardworking people working at the most dynamic frontiers:

To us it represents all the best tech and motivations powering web3, combined with the creative potential of AI - all packaged up to help users as best we can.

myWorld is a quick and dirty app built with the Tonk stack - like a collaborative Google Maps.

New @tonklabs.bsky.social Product Demo: myWorld

The Tonk stack helps developers use AI to build multiplayer apps fast and plug them into your data while keeping maximum control, privacy and flexibilty over your information.

To nontechnical people, we describe it as an easy way to build your own little internet.

Building that network requires (among other things) frontier cryptography. Key management is the hardest part of cryptography, so @goblinoats.bsky.social, Tonk’s CTO, wrote up a survey of approaches.
