Londoners just don't understand how bad public transport is outside the London and its periphery. This is the first government in a while that is actually interested in fixing the problems up here. By no means is this "levelling down" London.

The government has funded the Transpennine Route Upgrade and the station upgrades to Slaithwaite and Marsden.

However TransPennine Express has withdrawn direct services from Slaithwaite and Marsden to Leeds.

It is important that local people’s voices are heard and SMART are pledging to do that.
