Checks for listening using MWBs prior to more thorough, written checks for understanding. Useful for increasing student accountability during explanations, and obtaining higher success rate during understanding checks and practice.

That the compulsory English curriculum should include at least one nineteenth century novel from anywhere, a modern English novel and a work of Shakespeare was a good change *and* most schools don't have good enough behaviour policies to teach Of Mice & Men and not have it spill into the playground.
