#WhoWatch The plots and production and even politics are recognisable in the modern Who. The casting is all over the place. Now they have varied all the other aspects of the group, maybe they will think about varying the Doctor…..

I liked Steven and Dodo - I’m not sure dodo wasn’t kidnapped tbh. Sarah Campion is a companion despite what the internet people say

#WhoWatch War machines: so we are at the end of series 2. Barb and Iain went home (boohoo) and we have met a string of companions, some who stayed no time at all and some who are mostly in lost episodes. Must be so sad to remember being in a lost episode. Like tears in the rain.

Still in the Barbara fan club. She’s all war tactician now. Ian gets lost in a corner, again. The others have taught vicky not only take her seriously sadly. I was pleased to discover that my mum was a fan of Barbara in her day.

Aztec: somehow we have some culturally dubious aztecs talking in Classic Theatre style. Barbara gets to be a goddess but is properly put in her place. Susan is ignored.   Barbara tries to change history but rather than forbidden it’s more like history rights itself.

… and left to get on with it. She puts up with being attacked, ignored and dismissed. Go Barb….

Honourable mention here to Marco Polo, which is next but lost. Now it goes ‘oh look snow’ and then in the next ep, they are on a beach an Ian is wearing a fetching new silk jacket.

She’s stuck on a space ship with these folks and she squashes down her rage. Endearing number of set-shakes and boom-in-shots.

So far he doesn’t seem like a jerk, but seem less proactive and central compared to what I’m used to. I look forward to the discovery.

Interesting how theatrical the production is. And, I’m sorry to the universe, but Ian is annoying.

… fairly primitive. Story does dwell on the ethical implications of wiping out a species and war.

So, The Daleks: first I didn’t realise they were so very early. This first multi episode story has been such a goldmine for the future. The Doctor gives the Daleks the idea of space and time travel! They are fairly primitive. And they can fit a tray to their plunger 🪠

For context, I’ve been a casual watcher for all my life but never got into the lore.
