No need to feel pressured to follow me back. Here for the lolz …
The appeal of this is just how deep you gotta go. Like, it’s a (Leo McCarey) dive but not too obscure so it’s accessible but not obvious. Much appreciated.

This is an old joke.

Ya know, if “they’re” praising terrible writing then perhaps “they’re” not illiterate but have a different opinion of what constitutes good writing.

One month in on all that… could not have made a better choice.

Agreed, but Kate Capshaw really throws herself into that role. The performance is great.

I was just impressed that you have friends who care enough to drop you off at home. We all should be so lucky…

Just read it and loved it, worked at a theatre in mid-nineties and you evoke the experience so well. Really miss that old AVClub vibe. Thanks for the reads, gonna dive into the sequel soon!

I find that’s it good for helping me to outline, I’m a very very bad outliner and it allows me to see how new ideas can effect the structure of a project. I can also add in new details as I re-read the outline. Far easier than dealing with a notes doc that gets unwieldy. Good luck on your work!

Not a favorite of my own, but it’d be nice to live in a world where it was universally liked.

Hi Mark! Really enjoyed this article, really have come to miss film writing like this - in depth, insightful, gives new dimension to a familiar film. Also, really enjoyed Pictures at a Revolution. Thanks to you and Criterion for publishing.
