And to make matters worse we’ve heard through the grapevine that the contract that provides resources to man the phones to take individual registrations and manage those registrations has lapsed. And have no idea if it will be renewed

On top of that, we’d typically have thousands of boots on the ground between FEMACorps, AmeriCorps and our own employees to help get people registered for assistance they need. We have less than 100

Every expense over $100,000 has to be justified. Imagine SMEs explaining to some 22 yo person from DHS ( likely from
Weapons of mass destruction because apparently they have nothing else better to do ) why $1,000,000 has to be spent on search and rescue and first aid supplies
