Under the "unitary executive theory," any congressional limits on the president's control of the federal government are unconstitutional. But the Supreme Court siding with the Trump administration on these grounds could have serious consequences for our democracy.

In March 2025, President Trump fired both Democrat Commissioners from FTC for the sole stated reason of disagreement with their policy views — an illegal act under existing statute governing the agency. Now, the Trump administration is asking the Supreme Court to change the law.

Chechnya is another Russian conquest that was brutally occupied and its people murdered while the world stood by.
The Chechen opposition movement NIYSO has claimed that four men from a family in Chechnya, including one minor, were forced to sign a contract to fight in Ukraine. The movement claims this came as punishment for a relative who had ‘done something wrong’.
Chechen family forcibly sent to fight in Ukraine, NIYSO says
It was later reported that they were returned home.

FIRE’s Bob Corn-Revere for @PostOpinions: FCC Chair Brendan Carr nakedly abused government power to pressure ABC into removing Jimmy Kimmel from the air for his speech. In America, the government doesn’t get to play network executive and determine who and what you watch.

Fun question for the FCC. According to the official guidance from the FCC, all filings due during the shut down (with some exceptions) are due the first full business day after money is appropriated. (Looking like either Friday or Monday). Here is the problem: /1

Regulating interconnection is essential to the smooth operation of the phone network, and a core responsibility of the FCC. But as the FCC has refused to classify VOIP as Title II service, its unclear whether the agency would be able to continue this role after the transition.
