Totally for show. If he killed a Wendy’s drive thru attendant this would not happen. He kills a CEO and they spend hundreds to escort him. Have there been that many credible threats on his life? And even if that were true, he’s totally exposed to an attack from the front anyway.

Because it is entertaining. How many people watch Fox for information. They watch so they have somewhere to direct their anger, see a spectacle, and feel empowered to be a part of something.
