I feel moderately productive today. I finally wove in ends on several pairs of socks and mitts, washed those with my other pairs of socks, and hung them up. I *know* I can put them* in the dryer, but hanging them this way is pretty convenient.

*I did put my least favorite in the dryer for tonight.
Several pairs of colorful socks and mitts hanging from hangers to dry. Unseen are the T-pins that are used to keep them hanging and not slide off. I’ll probably flip them tomorrow morning so both sides catch the breeze from my ceiling fan.

I ended up taking this apart and rearranging the panels and changing how they were joined. Turns out, the Solumedrol infusion back in July really helped my brain work better for a while. All the sudden, I figured out gauge, measuring, a tidier join, and fixed what I had not even noticed was wrong. 🧶

Haha a chopstick comes out with crumbs, no batter. Silly me using toothpicks that didn’t go all the way to the bottom on first try.
Same pound cake, but much darker brown. There are visible holes from the chopstick “skewer.”

Not pictured: the still not baked all the way center that didn’t make itself known until I moved the loaf from the pan to a wire rack. Oopsie boopsie! I got it back in the pan and into the oven in one piece and so what if the top gets a little more… crispy.

Harley and I had oatmeal today!
Harley’s oatmeal is at the top of the photo in a metal bowl. There is also peanut butter and powdered milk*. Frankie’s oatmeal is in a blue plastic bowl. I added apple butter, peanut butter, butter butter, powdered milk*, salt, and Log Cabin syrup. *we were out of milk, but I have powdered milk from my pizza dough recipe several weeks ago. Not mad at it.

My gal Harley has come a long, long way in the last year. She is still hostile to any intruder (anyone but me and Mr. Hellhound), but has today achieved the ability to hear the Amazon person open the gate and let it close loudly, twice!, without doing more than lifting her head and looking around.

Took it apart and reworked it, as one does. Met today’s goal: finish increases! Doing at least one heel turn tomorrow after Infusion appointments!

Took a break from blankets. Making socks, as a treat. This yarn was (I think?) a one-off of leftover yarn colors at the end of a dye session by @lucymason217.bsky.social . Every time I pick the project up, I think “Violet you’re turning violet!” because it looks blueberry-stained.

10-stitch Blanket was too easy, so I’m doing a 16-stitch Blanket with a cable. It took about 10 tries to figure out shaping, turning cables 90 degrees, and joining edges. Sorry, I feel like I could do better alt text, but can’t word well today.

The beginnings of a square-ish knit blanket that spirals out from the center like a Fibonacci spiral. The visible yarn started in light orange, then changes to watermelon red/pink, and fuchsia is just starting on the working end. The pattern has a center cable that loops around the corners.

Working on a section of a blanket for my husband. Knit Picks Brava Worsted in mulberry, cable pattern 91 from Norah Gaughan’s Knitted Cable Sourcebook. Every section is going to be a different pattern from the book!

A closeup of my current work in progress. The color of the yarn is just barely on the red side of a deep, dark purple. The cable pattern used creates interlocking diamonds over 4/2 ribbing.

Hail! In the Courtyard
Hail, as seen from out my window to my courtyard. The courtyard has grey painted cinder blocks, a garbage can, pavers and cement. The hailstones are approximately as big as gumballs and that fun crunchy ice.

I am on Day 2 of resting my hands because of knitting injuries. Knitting. Injuries. Knitter’s Thumb (Tendinitis) has put me on the sidelines, but then look what came today! I have socks to finish and a blanket to start.
