If my recollection serves…picked this up in the cut out bin in 1980. Sticker says $2. Something the app streaming service generation will never know- getting an actual silver based promo photo in the album as an add on.

Happy 80th to Neil Young. Listened to this today, 2014’s “A letter home” album. Completely recorded in an antique voice-o-graph direct to vinyl recording at jack White’s studio. Sounds like it came straight from the Alan Lomax field recordings of the 40s.

Maybe the clouds are breaking here, sun came out literally in the last minute as it was setting. Caught the tree tops across the bay.
Appears however the second wave CME has passed us by, so a repeat of the northern lights for us clouded in last night not so promising.

Color is peaking here on the banks of the North Branch of the Chicago River. This old white oak is in a semi continuous stretch of forest inside the city limits. 15ft 3inches in circumference at chest height. Makes it about 295 years old. It’s seen some changes.
