I've worked as a game writer and a voice director for the last twenty years and I've always considered casting and voice directing part of the writing process. The final character is always a collaboration between the writer and the actor.

So unbelievably annoying. I really don't need a thieving, hallucinating, cliche spewing, endlessly annoying AI "partner" getting in my face every ten seconds to offer me a "helpful" suggestion.
