I got the identical situation, but I plan to get rid of signals today. Their only benefit compared to c# events is an ability to connect them through the inspector. And that's exactly what I don't do. Also, I kinda miss passing custom classes as parameters.

Hehe, it's my guilty pleasure to write something in gdScript just to rewrite it in C# when it becomes even slightly bigger than 20 lines.

You know the deal, wanna type safety and all other perks of statically typed languages, go to C#.

It is string dependant, and won't throw you any errors if You make a typo.

I like Godot, but sometimes it feels like a Bar where you can get a nice Pina colada or sex on the beach, but some old "FindComponent<>" beer is always out of stock.

Yeah, tho they have a pretty valid reason to do it this way. It's a physics body and you cannot just turn it off/on an, it should happen at the end of physics process loop to make sure that everything is alright. What grinds my gears is the fact that they still provide a setter for that property.

Alternatively you can use a static class "PropertyName" followed by the property. That will allow you to reduce dependency on strings in your code.

Thanks, It says the game was published by Atlus. Now I see why I mistook it for Persona. They clearly were influencing the art team.

What game is that? Seems like persona, is it Persona 3?

Omg, it was driving me nuts! Thanks!

You are welcome!

I don't use gdScript much, but what if you just delete self from both sides?
December 1, 2024 at 2:47 PM
Thank you, I'am going to use it in my next prototype!

How did you make blocks falling effect? Is it an animation/tween on several blocks or it's some a shader?

Great content, but tbh I find excessive sound effects obstructive for my millennial brain, lol.
