Lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty has environmental consequences. But this development brought schools, hospitals, roads to remote areas of china, allowed people to have energy to power their homes, gave them refrigeration. It allowed china to become a leader in science, medicine and tech

China is now providing green technology to Africa, which could allow the continent to "leapfrog" traditional forms of fossil-fuel based development by directly adopting renewable energy sources, bypassing the heavy carbon-emitting industrial phase. China is serious about mitigating climate change!
