Thoroughly enjoyed the touring production of Hamilton at the NAC this afternoon. Strong performances all round, slick production values, a first rate show. Last time Hamilton came to Ottawa we were disappointed, but this was top notch. Tickets are $$$, but worth it if you can swing it.

Two great reads on my vacation week. First is an Agatha Christie type murder mystery with all suspects at a country manor for the weekend. Second is a young woman who escapes Austria just after the Anschluss and gets a job at the Royal Library at Windsor, but is drawn into intrigue.

New Year’s resolution … less doomscrolling, more books. First up, Jenny Slate’s exquisite Life Form. Wow. I read it in one sitting, tears rolling down my face (in public, unfortunately!). Powerful, moving, and funny reflections on life, love, and motherhood. Five stars.
