Retired. Don’t like mornings or broccoli. All in on bourbon.
So, the wife and me are sitting on the patio on a beautiful 78 degree Nor Cal evening with a cocktail and this lands on the table in front of us. All I can think of is, these two should get a garbage can. I open the floor to the wit and witticism of my fellow Bluesky compatriots. Enjoy your evening.

Trump is demanding the homeless leave DC immediately and far go away. If DeSantis can ship migrants to Martha’s vineyard, I think Mar a Lago is the best option for the DC homeless. And BTW Donald, being homeless is not a crime regardless of how much you hate them, asshole!

Trump announces another trade deal today. He’s arranged for the American people to pay 19% more for everything imported from Indonesia, and the Philippines which was announced earlier. New admin slogan: “Pay more. Live worse.” (Apologies Walmart).

Firefighters battling a wildfire near Couer D’Alene Idaho have come under intense sniper fire from individuals unknown. 2 are dead. Sheriff says multiple people still pinned down as active sniper fire continues. Massive law enforcement response. He has given the order to take them out if possible.

Today Nvidia shares hit an all time high. Why? Ask yourself, what has AI done for me lately? Exactly. I’ve seen this movie before. I think it was called, The Dot-Com Bubble/Bust. Caveat emptor.

As I heard the experts yesterday saying they weren’t worried about the price of oil because Israel was not targeting Iran’s oil facilities, now Israel says Tehran is burning as they target their oil depot.
Massive fire and destruction. Welcome to $100 a barrel plus oil. Morons!

Just read Aaron Rodger’s got married during the off season. He won’t tell anyone who it is. My theory is that he wanted her to be able to graduate high school without a lot of media attention.

As a country, our morals are now economically driven. Our collective outrage against corruption, criminality and hypocrisy, only seem to become important when enough of us don’t have a job and the have nots begin to outnumber the haves. We probably need to accept the reality of who we’ve become.
May 13, 2025 at 5:36 PM
We have fundamentally changed as a country where people are ok with a level of dishonesty and criminality as long as they have an extra dollar in their pocket. The majority of haves will say they care about the have nots, but materially they don’t. We are a country of ideas, but no longer ideals.

Hearing a market analyst downplay the losses by saying the market was too high and over priced to begin with, was just priceless.

Watched a historian on TV this morning compare Regan against today’s Republican Party. It was ridiculous and absurd. Philosophically and practically speaking, they are about as far apart as man today and Homo Erectus from 2 million years ago. Just please stop!

If you’re having a hard time containing the the level of anger you’re feeling that you didn’t realize, until now, that you were capable of, you’re not alone and it’s totally justified. Deep breaths.

Federal firefighter safety team just fired by DOGE. WTF people! How long are we just going to sit around and be the boiling frog? I’m headed for my local Tesla outlet to stand up and be counted.

@schiff.senate.gov Dems need to take a page from Trump’s playbook. Big rally’s in arenas etc. places that will get national media attention. No professorial speeches. Get emotional, get nasty. It worked for Trump, why not us! The troops will be there, we’re hungry to show up and fight back.

If somebody asked me today, what’s the one sure thing you know at this moment, I would say, government shuts down March 14 2025. Given the current state of our affairs, I have never been more certain. Trump absolutely wants this. Prepare yourselves.

Am I the only one who thinks a few national 30 second TV ads from AARP, for example, telling people their Social Security and Medicare benefits are at risk because Musk and his high schoolers have unfettered access to your info and payments, is a good idea?

@carlquintanilla.bsky.social Just watching the halftime report on CNBC, I just heard Josh Brown talking about market volatility. In the same sentence he referred to the president of China as president Xi and then referred to the president of Mexico as the, Woman from Mexico. Despicable sexism.

Gonna say I called it, the it being the Trump walk back of tariffs to save face. Now Canada gets a 30 day pause. Just all so much childish bullshit.

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social I guess I wouldn’t feel so helpless tonight if I had any reason to believe that democrats gave a damn. Does your oath only matter as a means to a paycheck, everything else be damned?
February 1, 2025 at 4:32 AM
What happened tonight is horrific and my thoughts are with the families of the service members and civilians involved. That being said, let me just preemptively say to any Republicans who immediately seek to blame this on Joe Biden, FU!
January 30, 2025 at 5:27 AM
@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social You and the democrats are a complete failure in this moment. Trump is basically shutting down every good thing the government does and nothing but silence. It’s despicable. Funding for children’s cancer research, for example, has been cut off and you couldn’t care less.
January 28, 2025 at 5:39 AM
Well, here you go. Not only was Elon Musk the, “Mastermind”, behind the pardons of the hard core right wingers according to White House aide Paul Ingrassia, but he was also threatening prison officials with prosecution if they slow rolled their release. Anyone need more proof he’s the enemy within.

Seems Tik Tok doesn’t have their facts straight and Apple anyway, has a difference of opinion with Trump regarding his ability to just, put on hold, laws he doesn’t like. This was the App Store just a few minutes ago despite Trump telling them, yeah, everything’s fine, I’ll protect you.

Once DOGE + Republicans get done slashing benefits to fund tax cuts for the rich, the hangover for Trump voters will be severely painful. There will be an epic level of buyers remorse.
