Happy Ears
@happyears.bsky.social
Semi-grumpy person, posts about software development, maybe professional wrestling.
It's not against TOS to talk about "digging a hole", you don't need to qualify it with "in Minecraft" to dodge a ban. 😜

That’s why they love this tech so much! It kinda sorta does menial tasks better than they can so it looks miraculous to them.

When I read this I am thinking of “nWo” the wrestling faction… is this the right read or do I need to have my morning coffee? 😂

I saw/downloaded that picture on a 2400 or 14.4 dialup in the early 90's from a BBS.

I agree. Personally I think that’s just a matter of picking your table and whining the seats. If the DM doesn’t want that sandbox game, they need to find players who don’t want it either.

The media has been - more and more - trying to *become* the story, rather than *report* the story. HST style gonzo journalism is becoming the norm. Then they whine about why trust and money are evaporating!

I really need to re-watch that, saw it in the theater with my mom who just dumped all over it, which colored my impressions of it badly, and I haven't seen it since. I suspect it's a lot better than she felt it was.

GP = XP "back in the day" and it was an absolute abomination. If it didn't produce GP, the PCs wouldn't do it, so everything skewed - heavily - to "stab first and ask questions later".

Bond isn't MCU where being a total nerd on the deep lore going back 75 years is half the fun for a significant part of the audience, no one cares about continuity of Bond as a character, Bond is just an artistic shortcut so they don't need to establish the character.

Please let me know which slur for "subhuman" is best to refer to my conservative friends and family at the Thanksgiving table.

Good gravy, this is so vile. Want to prove how much smarter and better we are? Don't post stuff like this.

It's "brandishing" if we're being super nit-picky, but yes, and you DO have the right to self-defense if that person is not a properly identified law enforcement official or a few other narrow cases.

Came to comments to say the same. I'll add onto that, without having been there, not legal advice, etc., but it sounds like this person had the right to defend themselves with force.

"Same" I whisper as I am watching an episode of "America's Court" because a podcaster I like was on it 15 years ago, instead of just going to bed like I should have done an hour ago.

This is a great example of the problems in the industry... it's well-documented by @edzitron.com that Google deliberately made search results worse, by making users view more pages of results, Google gets to show more ads. This thinking has become endemic and ruined everything.
