Happy Doc Summer Camp runs physician wellness programs in fun places! We focus both on individual coping strategies for the short term, and ways to change the workplace for long term satisfaction and to reduce burnout.

Local engagement to change institutions is an important part of long-term wellness.

This is great to hear. Not just because of the scholarships themselves, but because it's validating and refreshing to see someone putting up money to take wellness seriously!

I'll pass this on to my students.

This is certainly sad, but not true of all programs. I've been an academic EM physician for two decades, and I love my residents, my colleagues, and we're a pretty happy lot.

Our common enemy is the system that surrounds us! That's part of what inspired happy doc's institutional focus.

Thanks for the great work you're doing! Inclusiveness is vitally important. (EM/CCM doc here, also a member of the #LGBTQ community).

At Happy Doc, we do both. Personal wellness strategies are important, but they won't fix a toxic workplace.

Conversely, much of the stress that causes burnout comes from the workplace, and interventions both large and small can help combat that.

We talk too little about fixing broken workplaces.

We support evidence-based practice - in wellness as well as any other area of medicine.
