Beach near Katwijk, looking south towards Scheveningen. It is winter, so the sun is low in the sky. The horizon is at about 1/3 from the bottom, so the majority of the photo is sky. The left (east, landward) side of the sky has about 7/8 cloud cover, white, with the sun shining through. Coming in from the right (west, seaward) is a dark cloud that has almost blotted out Scheveningen in the far distance. Contrasty tire tracks stretch away in the foreground, people are dotted around in the middle distance. A good day for a winter beach walk, as long as you’re prepared for the occasional shower.

The seagulls in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland sort themselves. They’ll still eat anything tho, so eating too much plastic and they mis-sort themselves, I suppose…

Packet of tinsel, carefully re-harvested after use and re-aligned from year to year. The packet is a mostly green piece of cardboard labelled with ”500 Streifen brillant Lametta”, with the strips folded double and caught at the midpoint. A plastic sleeve slides over the cardboard to hold everything in place. The style suggests 70s or 80s. On eBay or Etsy this would probably be called “vintage”.

I find this piece… disturbing.

A black 2x8 LEGO plate which looks like it has 7 technic holes down the centre line. Only the holes are a bit all over the place, and closer inspection suggests somebody drilled ‘em, but wasn’t careful enough about positioning.
