On the way home from San Diego today I exited the highway to take a look at this. I didn't do the tour since the little doggie was with me, and several free-roaming dogs who live there were about. This place is for sale, by the way.

It's so breathtaking here I can't even. The little doggie and I took a long walk this morning, spent a couple of hours at Dog Beach, and he kept me company while I had a couple of Mai Tais at dinner on a patio. This photo is from the morning walk.

This is just a magical place. When I sat down to dine tonight a song came on the radio (or whatever internet-based music service was playing) and it was very moving for personal reasons too detailed to elaborate here. I'll make a blog post about it later.

It makes me super sad that I'll probably never get to walk out on this pier again. But it makes me super happy that the little doggie was here with me today! Working at the restaurant out on the pier has been a dream job of mine for the last 25 years. That dream never will come true...

Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel was a delightful place to stop for a late lunch on the way to San Diego! I had the potato tacos, which were vegan and delicious.
