Anyone able to explain what is going on here? How can one automate a post box?

This is where blind reliance on cars and ignorance of decarbonisation gets you

Westfield Avenue new cycle track coming along nicely

Intrigued if blue sections are part of guidance or designer just going on a solo run

Really like the SUDS / planting arrangement.

More to come soon further west

Something not right in how we review things that such a consultation has zero references to the A10 but yet on crash map it has approximately +500 crashes one could reference as evidence a main road is a severance safety issue

Just a few examples from this weekend on how climate change is impacting us more and more using the medium of football to illustrate it. These are clear examples of climate impact costing society. But yet people will try convince you we are wasting money on spending on infrastructure resilience.

I appreciate maybe the state does not have the eye for this, or even does admin work need to be in such impressive buildings, but it still brings into question are we giving away state assets for a song when the next buyer wants to create a luxury hotel using former government building

This little fella was going around Bayonne when I visited

Yeah this one in Bexley should rolled out everywhere. A much better way for people to try navigate walking and cycling.

This gets to my thinking but thanks to @tomforth.co.uk tool www.tomforth.co.uk/circlepopula... I was surprised to see basically 100km radius of London has close to same population as 100km encompassing Man/Liv/West Mids/Leeds/Sheff. It’d be interesting to see productivity comparison for same area…

Image to open article again hiking 🥾

Why isn’t there just one image of a person walking to the shops, or picking up their child from school?

Great to push out a more attainable target for walking steps to keep everyone healthy. But the imagery in the BBC article 🙄

Roads in Ireland in vast majority of times are built primarily on the back of budget and political decisions i.e. it’s a choice whether to build or not to build based on priorities

Thus it’s relatively easy for the Irish government to “ramp up” delivery of roads to suit political needs 1/

If you remember this new wooden bridge at Surrey Quays / Canada Water @rantyhighwayman.bsky.social note how all the red paint already rubbed off.

It was ironic to see the article writer record sounds of Limes on the now completely quiet low traffic Church Street. Good luck doing that on any other main road.

How does this add up if you just take account of Manchester City’s shirt sales versus their peers? City sell 75% less football shirts than Man Utd for example, but yet manufacturers value the deal as 10% higher 🤔

Yup, it all adds up. Definitely spreading the money where it’s needed most on this one

Huh?
July 8, 2025 at 1:51 PM
Can’t say I have the energy to read this but if people are genuinely keen to understand changing demographics in London then look no further than its age profile as there’s been a significant shift with fewer younger people living as a proportion in the city whereas over 50’s cohort has soared

Lime really are starting to become the go to for getting around central London. I wish and hope TfL can stay in there too with their bikes but Lime really have stolen a march of late. Great to see cycling becoming a choice in general all the same.
June 3, 2025 at 12:06 PM
What % of car trips are these? Why do we never put this question to other people driving their car? Not sure it’s ever asked of people who are making a car trip not to do so by car for others benefit? Yet this is what we seem to often lay at people who want priority for cycling, bus or walking.
