Meanwhile, Black women only make $0.61 for every $1 a white man is paid in California. If a Black single mom was paid the same as a white man, she would be able to afford 8 additional years of groceries, 2 years of child care, or an entire year of rent. 🧵

When the data is disaggregated by race and ethnicity, we see even further disparities due to a history of racism and sexism. Latinas in California only make $0.44 for every $1 a white man makes. That means it will take almost 130 years — or until 2153 — for Latinas to reach equal pay. 🧵
