Please learn your history. The Kent State shooting is the most famous incident, but it was one in a long string of US Government massacres of student protestors. If you'd like another example, there's the MOVE bombing, where police levelled a city block. Political assassinations are also a US thing.

Keir is the UK PM. The UK has no right to bear arms.

We see the impact of this in sports like gymnastics where athletes are training and destroying their bodies younger and younger, in order to perform superhuman feats by the time they hit puberty, in an escalating arms race. Add widespread doping and kids in elementary school will be pushed to do it.

The serious argument against a performance enhancing free-for-all is that professional sports is the end of the junior sports pipeline, and you'll end up with 10 year olds pushed to roid up, so they can be good enough for selection in competitions that feed into sports careers.

They WERE the money in politics. The billionaire class of the day that objected to not being in charge. They thought they were making a compact between themselves to run things, with just enough in it for the plebs to defend them instead of behead them next.

Of note, Watergate involved a lot of crimes that there WERE laws against, like break and enter, theft, and kidnapping, amongst all the contempt stuff.

It took them a long, long time, with a lot of ignoring the situation, and then a big public reversal of popularity before they did.

This is the hill from which they attack the next hill. And the next. And before you know it, we have illegal health care. Three items clothing laws. Dressing as ourselves in public becomes a crime. Homosexuality criminalised. Same sex marriage banned. And then everyone will wish we'd fought now.

There is no universe where even active complicity in removing trans people from sport doesn't then continue to use that victory to press for other restriction.

The sports issue was chosen by right wing agitators explicitly BECAUSE it will spill over (through their own actions) into other areas. It was chosen (along with bathrooms, schools and prisons) because it's easy to convince people to control your gender there, and then extrapolate to everywhere else

There's probably a reason there are a lot of us who come out when we're nearing forty. It's a crisis in the sense that we're as burnt out as we can go, and can't hold onto the fiction, or the closet door, any longer. A genuine crisis of our world falling down, unable to be glued back together.

The world outside Australia was clearly never exposed to the 90's childrens' TV genius of 'Round The Twist, or else everyone would know that swimmers can use their penii for additional propulsion through the water.

No-one in this whole sordid affair, other than trans people, have given a second thought to the impact on trans people, not even to the simple level of saying "so what if she was?"

It almost certainly does come from a place of wanting to defend her own womanhood (albeit in the context of being hurt by a wave of cyberbullying aimed at delegitimising her career and achievements, and potentially inspiring stochastic terror attacks against her) and not defending us as well.
