It feels like the whole city is burning rn. My heart is breaking.

Tried to reassure my 5yo daughter that the fires are far from us, saying, “The big fire is up near where we go to the beach, in Malibu.”

She gasped and said, “Barbie lives there. IS BARBIE SAFE?!”

I told her I had it on good authority that Malibu Barbie has, in fact, evacuated.

Flew back to LA today feeling 10 lbs lighter (physically, not emotionally. Emotionally I am a shell of myself).
