Aims
transformed society, disrupted power
At a meeting of the Sustainable Agri-Food System Research Group @bristoluni.bsky.social

Guy Poppy highlights the environment impacts of food, but emphasises not to demonise farmers.

A great reminder of what transformative governance can be and what's missing.

Good inspiration to start day 2 of the @transformationscommunity.org

Inspired today at the @britsoci.bsky.social #NewMaterialism conference

Amazing artworks by Julian Burton (Delta 7): a diffractive montage portraying detrimental quirks in our health system

What are the affects of 'labelling' people as having mental ill health?

& who gets to label?

Inspiring session exploring the food stories of everyone in the room.

Connecting food to our diverse heritage, experiences & memories.

I connected to mint which grew in my mums garden.

What does food mean to you?

Inspired by Dr Roxana Barbulescu @britsoci.bsky.social conference

Impactful visual narratives about migrant workers critical contributions to UK #Farming. But many are on zero hours contracts & have no access to healthcare despite paying tax & NI.

Great day thinking how to increase #farmer led #agroecology research w/ @landworkersuk.bsky.social

Challenges
>farmers lack capacity
>need for knowledge sharing amongst growers
>need to disrupt the focus on high-tech solutions

Can we rethink priorities & funding distribution methods?

Today I'm thinking & learning about drawing in sociology & #health #research

How it can allow us to get in conversation with our body. To describe pain, share emotional experience.

Another poem created from a #PublicEngagement event at the end of 2024.

From 30 responses to the prompt:
? Why do you think it's important for citizens to participate in #research ?

Had some interesting discussions as well about why the word #citizen isn't inclusive

Great to present this poster based on co-created research w/ #FoodSEqual at #TUKFS

It describes how the 'process' of delivering participatory #FoodSystems #Research can in itself contribute to #FoodSystemTransformation.

This includes developing #FoodCitizenship & conditions for #FoodDemocracy

Enjoyed running a zine making session w/ @drcpettingerrd.bsky.social today at #TUKFS conference.

We explored how #CreativeMethods can support our #FoodSystems #Research

We found selecting images supports us to gain new insights & to refine our ideas & how to communicate them
