Yup: I am allergic to peas, lentils and chickpeas (cue much hilarity) and married to a vegetarian. And have children allergic to milk and eggs. Don't invite us to dinner as a family.

Allergen-specific mRNA–lipid nanoparticle therapy for prevention and treatment of experimental allergy in mice
Allergic diseases have reached epidemic proportions globally, calling attention to the need for better treatment and preventive approaches. Herein, we developed allergen-encoding messenger RNA (mRNA)–lipid nanoparticle (LNP) strategies for both ...

It’s remarkable how accommodating and thoughtful their 5 and 8 year old classmates are compared to *actual adults* on this stuff. Have hope for the next generation.

Happily science keeps on moving and Canadian medics have designed an MRNA vaccine that seems to be effective in treating peanut allergy. Tests are still ongoing, and it’s being tried with other substances too, but I try to focus on this as it gives me hope.

And that’s partly thanks to the wilful, gloating ignorance Sitwell and his audience, who revel in their luck of having had an easier ride.
They would never speak like this about a family whose child has cancer.

No, but that’s my point - why is not having the necessary info a barrier to voting at 16 (which is the issue you’re highlighting) when it isn’t for anyone else? And if the change of law means the push to invest in teaching young people citizenship that’s great from my POV

Hmmm, this is training that everyone needs - not just those who are 16. Enthusiasm and lack of understanding of the system are not mutually exclusive (Brexit!), but we don’t deny the vote to others lacking in the necessary knowledge
