We’re at #COTN2025 and held an excellent workshop on our #gamechanger for an Institute for Preventative Health Research based in the North. We’re determined to develop the region’s excellence in prevention, great to have so many champions to make this happen @thenhsa.bsky.social

Excellent day in London. First at @childofthenorth.bsky.social APPG, then great Life Science panel at Euston. Sometimes it’s frightening how separate those who need healthcare & those who talk of Life Sciences investment are &why the North’s innovation(& investment in) is fundamental in this space.

Great to go to the University of York yesterday to hear about their new joint centre with Born in Bradford. These sort of collaborations between data and social policy are essential if we’re to truly understand and impact our population- particularly in the woefully misunderstood North

My nana just died, she was 99 & used to work in the War Office - where she met my grandad (who made it to 93) & Churchill - after her first fiancée had been killed in action. She stayed in touch with his family all their lives. During lockdown my son (then 11) interviewed her and wrote this xxx Nana
