Historian researching sexuality, youth, gender & education in C20 Britain. Book ‘Teenage Intimacies’ out now! Editor of 'Modern British History'. Often still thinking about the pop culture of the 00s/10s. She/her.
‘Teenage Intimacies’ is now officially out in the world! It’s a history of teenage sexuality in postwar England that speaks to ideas of growing up, adolescence, friendship, family, identity, culture and education. It’s been a long time coming but I’m really proud of the end result! 🗃️ #histsex

Our fire risk assessment was just sent around all the occupants of my office building... Maybe they want me to be ashamed but actually this feels like an academic level-up!

I'm working on a super fun new writing project this week and have been spending a lot of time reading feminist cultural studies/media studies from the 1980s-2000s. Texts like this are great to think with as they are full of great analysis but remain fascinating products of their time.

🗃️I have a new article out in Journal of the History of Sexuality! Come for the delightful descriptions of teenage sex and 'petting', stay for the profound(!) analysis of ideas of adolescent development in the post-war period.
