We took sex positive approach to examine dating app use. Some negative outcomes were reported, mainly by men, including rejection & low self-esteem, & racism & discrimination. Participants of all genders used strategies to reduce risks to health. Women were particularly cautious of men on apps (3/4)

The three dimensions of sense of coherence—particularly the behavioural aspect of manageability—should be considered when developing and implementing health promotion interventions to improve health and wellbeing in the LGBTQ+ community. [5/6]

Our review found that in LGBTQ+ populations, sense of coherence is related to wellbeing and discrimination, and more limited evidence suggests sense of coherence may be lower compared to cisgender heterosexuals. [4/6]

Both can buffer the effects of external threats, such as discrimination experienced by minority groups. It could also buffer the impacts of public health emergencies, such as pandemics. [3/6]

Salutogenesis focuses on factors that support human health and well-being, rather than on factors that cause disease. Sense of coherence (SoC) is a key component of this model, referring to a person's ability to perceive life as comprehensible, manageable, and meaningful. [2/6]
