That was the only way to show Karlach that she wasn’t alone with this and she agrees to go with them. Arien thought it was best choice for him too. If he would go with Halsin, he would be morre burden than help.

Karlach’s way to give up trying repair her chest engine wasn’t an option. He was determined to save Karlach together with Wyll and so these three went to hell together to find a cure for Karlach. He grapped Karlachs hand and it started burn him.
