When I learned how many men hated women's equal rights I was sad. Then I learned how many women hated women and I was amazed. Then I realized that quite possibly this is who we actually have become. He turned over the rock and look what has crawled out.

Watch what he does and does not do. Pay no attention to his lips and what he says. Remember that today he will issue many proclamations to muddy the water and confuse and fluster us but we must pick it apart one thing at a time and make him accountable.

One of my very favorite songs? Absolutely. I love the verse I cite and certainly the dissonance of life caught in those two words, beautiful despair. Thanks and I hope to see you again in Chicago later this year. You're sold out but I'll bide my time and find a ticket.
