The bigger story is that he effectively rejected the 28 point plan by demanding Ukrainian withdrawal from Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.

And by demanding that Ukraine withdraw completely from Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts, Putin has already rejected the 28 point plan. So this whole thing was a waste of time. I hate the Trump administration with a passion.

This American is thankful for your and your compatriots’ efforts to resist the tide of Russian revanchism.

I might argue that defending their sovereign territory ruthlessly is an honored Ukrainian cultural tradition as much as murderous imperialism in its near abroad is Russia’s. They’ve been doing a considerable amount of cultural exchange.

Delivering surrender terms, I presume. These backstabbers are a disgrace.

Long term thinking is not our strength. I hope that we will re-engage when we realize our mistakes but I wouldn’t bet on it.

The sad truth is that Americans on both sides of the spectrum are willfully oblivious to foreign policy. There is an isolationist streak that runs deep in our veins and the reason the Dems ignore foreign policy is they know the votes don’t care.

Wonder if a) there’s only so many that can be launched from the experimental Typhon launcher and b) supplying a small number will convince Germany to send Taurus, sort of like the small number of Abrams to convince the Europeans to send a lot more Leopards.

Unlikely but one can hope.

Slow motion mobilization at work. Further backs up what we’ve seen in the milblogger space that the contracts are dragging to a halt. Hopefully this further destabilizes Moscow politically.

I only disagree with this comparison because Trump is no Theoden.

Well, a shame about the pilots, but that’s one less missile platform.
