No... it's not. Because scotus reviewed the sealed evidence and it didn't come up in discourse at all. There was no merit or acknowledgement of the threat. It was 100% about what China *might be able to do* someday. Hypotheticals. All while Americans have no data privacy rights anyway.

I can't agree to disagree, because nothing "spooked" the government. It was a ploy. A bribe by Meta lobbyists. That's it. And the gov chose to listen to them instead of 170M Americans, many of whom earn income on TikTok. Pay. Attention.

Lastly, did you listen to the hearings? SCOTUS said that *if* the gov were making content-based arguments, that WOULD violate our rights & they'd reverse the ban. They ruled it was a strictly a data privacy concern (without evidence). This is why the ruling should scare everyone.

Also please don't speak for "professionals" and what scares us. I'm in marketing and my husband is in cybersecurity, and we're terrified of the ban/government overreach, NOT the bogus security threat. There was never any evidence of nefarious activity from Bytedance.

No, it's tailored to anyone. That's the magic of the algorithm. My mom loves TikTok because it's curated for her. Also, why do you care what adults choose to consume? The gov shouldn't block our access to information. It's a violation of free speech.
