Apropos of absolutely nothing bizarre going on in our country right now, I passed my CCW quals.

I haven't fired a gun since I was ~9 yo as it never seemed like a necessary skill. Until now.

Marker tics on small holes are from 22cal instructor tests and our warmups. The rest are my 9mm.

A corporate retail worker suggests buying only essentials from here on out in addition to the 2/28 shopping blackout, noting that long-term action is what will get retailers' attention when the sales quarter ends in May. Advice includes deleting all retail apps and unsubscribing from all emails. Go to the actual retail site and leave reviews explaining exactly what you're doing and why. Additionally, when in stores, fill your carts with what you'd normally buy and abandon them. This forces retailers to add these actions to incident reports. The retail specialist notes that not everyone can boycott dyores like Walmart, but avoid buying name brands and only shop when you have to, so that name brand companies are not rewarded by your purchase. Remember that it takes time to see the results of boycotting efforts. Hold the line, and together, we can make a difference!

My #crowmurder has returned! Each winter, the crows and ravens return to feast on neighborhood pecans. I'll get a half dozen brave souls snacking on peanuts, dry cat food, and seeds in the morning, but within a week, it'll be dozens of birds throughout the day. These guys warm my cold, black heart!

Finally finished a hooded shawl that I started over the summer. All it needed was the fringe, which involved slicing into an untouched ball of yarn to match the color progressions. One more shawl to finish!

Just finished the second racking of my prickly pear wine, gallons 2-4, and the first racking of #5 and #6, pomegranate and prickly pear, respectively.

I'm heading into 2025 with about 7.5 gallons of homemade wine and thinking, "No way is this enough."
