I hate that sweet oatmeal is the default. I don't fault anyone for loving it, but I'm a savory oatmeal fan. It just seems like there's never enough sugar for oatmeal to be palatable. Savory, however, is SO MUCH easier to manage. My go-to is oatmeal, soy sauce, dashi, and scramble an egg in.
