The hardest part has been not forcing myself to keep up with the younger guys in my class. I have to accept that my conditioning rounds will take a little longer, and that I'll need to modify some of the exercises sometimes. Humility is hard.

The road's fine. This is the view the driver would have had, and the speed limit's only 30km/h:

Determining as in discovering or as in deciding?

I was just on the Gunvalkyrie wikipedia page this morning. Weird to see it mentioned in the wild after almost a quarter century.

It’s like something out of a Neal Stephenson novel. It’s really rewarding to learn and play if your brain works a certain way . For me it’s a game I play obsessively for 10 hours or so, put away for a few days/weeks/months, and then feel the urge to start from scratch once again at random.

“Cloaca crisps” didn’t test well

Nobelium in Satisfactory. It's basically dynamite, meant for clearing obstacles, but also useful against local fauna.

Zelda games have a few. Hookshot (movement + attack), boomerang (long-range pickup + attack).

Squirrel with a Gun is basically all this all the time. You move around by shooting.

If Conan counts, probably Robert E. Howard. Literary equivalent of a popcorn movie for me.

They were booing it in the Bell Centre a week ago when things were just a little unfriendly. Now that it's all-out trade war, I'm sure it's going to be very loud.

Literally hundreds in my backlog. I had a bundle and sale addiction for sure.

I'm the same way on 1. Horror movies are a comfort thing. Despite the content they're relaxing and fun for me. Horror games though? They put my stress levels through the roof. I don't need that in a game. They're fun once in a while but definitely not my thing.

Replays were a big part of it. Seeing an amazing match in a competition or stream and then being able to download it and see what everyone was doing at any given moment was incredibly cool and a great way to learn.

Now that my Habs are almost certainly completely out of it (RIP Guhle's thigh), Mark Scheifele is the only reason I can't root for them wholeheartedly.

I miss it. I haven't been really sucked into an RTS since Starcraft II though. I've toyed with Alien: Dark Descent and Dune: Spice Wars and enjoyed them but not in that obsessive way I used to.

I stopped using it about a month ago, but at the time it felt quite active. I'd say about as active as Bluesky once you filter out the engagement bait, bots and "is anyone still here" type of posts. Definitely not 10x as active.
