Labour didn't "lose" the Left. They quite deliberately and knowingly persecuted, expelled and sidelined the Left!

Like recycling, energy use, transport, the efforts of the populace are negated by the wilful inaction of business & government.
It can't just be consumers doing the donkey work.

Can you imagine MPs agreeing to having all their work inspected at 24 hours notice, and then being publicly graded and put in a league table based on a snapshot judgement?

Also. I understand the 'you have to be in power to make change' theory, but how can the boss of Ecotricity be a member (and vocal supporter, often directly campaigning against the Greens) of Labour with them having policies such as this?
