There was no sand castle without the hard work of hauling water. But the building of the inspirational structure started by doing the foundational work in tandem.

Isn’t that the whole point of living in community? Let’s carry the weight together. When we walk side by side, the burden is lighter, the laughter is louder, the love is more full.

Our teacher gave us the option to use a trolley for the buckets, but this beautiful team of humans decided it was more meaningful to share the load, walk in tandem, to ensure all had an opportunity to contribute. He said, “I have never seen a group of people take care of each other like that.”

Dani and Theresa had already carried many buckets of water and were beginning to feel the drain of lifting and carrying, so they grabbed on together to ease the load.

What you don’t see is that Chrisy has a back injury so she can not carry the weight of a bucket. Aaryn told her, “You carry the bucket to the water and I will carry it back for you.” And Chrisy said, “And I’ll keep you company along the way!”
