All ten quilts brought over from the old place, freshly washed and folded. Eight were made by me, and two were gifted in the wake of being displaced by a house fire.

I made many more quilts than these 8. These are just the ones that still live with me. Most were gifts.

2/ I picked this book to fulfill Prompt 48 for the 2025 #the52bookclub challenge, Related to the Word "Puzzle."

I had no expectations going into the book, as I didn't recall anything about the plot. I purchased it on sale a while ago, and was simply picking books to fulfill prompts.

It is here.

Now to exhibit some self-control and NOT open this until December. I’m looking forward to doing daily swatches of this and the Diamine Inkvent Calendar.

Yes, I will be adding a whole bunch of little bottles of fountain pen ink to my hoard over the holiday month. No regrets.

13/ Finally, earlier this month, I listened to The Last of the Moon Girls by Barbara Davis, narrated by Sarah Mollo-Christensen.

Initially, I rated this book at three stars, but then I wrote my impressions in my reading journal and moved it down to two stars.

The plot wasn't terribly unique...

11/ It was several weeks before I finished another book for #the52bookclub challenge, as I was running out of prompts and having difficulty deciding on books for them.

Finally, I listened to The Overstory by Richard Powers, as narrated by Suzanne Toren. Very well written, and powerfully narrated...

8/ I switched back to reading for my next book, and read In the Woods, by Tana French.

I was not particularly enamored of this book, from the opening pages. The primary character admitted to being an unreliable narrator. Further, as the crime unspooled itself and he failed to admit...

5/ I continued with audiobooks, and listened to Beowulf: A New Translation, by Maria Dahvana Headley and narrated by JD Jackson.

Never having read or listened to any version of Beowulf before, I went in blind. Of course, I wasn't entirely ignorant of the plot and tone of the epic poem...

2/ A few days after I finished The Testaments, I finished listening to Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen, as narrated by Rosamund Pike. This was hands down the best performance of P&P That I've listened to. Pike's performance made it possible for me to better follow which character was speaking...

1/ Our feline visitor was still in the basement this morning. I put a litter box and more food down there to ensure he was okay, but the next time I went down, he’d disappeared again.

Landlord stopped by to figure out where he got in about 1.5 hours ago. As landlord was showing me the entry point,

So, there is a cat in the basement, and he does not belong to us…

I went looking for the fountain pen that is inked with Edelstein Onyx, so I can finish journaling about the last three books I read…

I found ten fountain pens that I wrote dry…

It is now pen cleaning day

3/ a Kickstarter campaign, and I have a physical copy somewhere. For today, though, I’m working from the PDF copy of the game.

I spent a spent a bit getting the first few pages of a new Kokuyo notebook ready to record my rolls for each turn, and now I’m into documenting Turn 1.

I use clear plastic, stackable bins (marketed as fridge organizers) to organize the bottles that are short enough to accommodate the stacking. I do my best to keep labels facing out and organize by manufacturer.

The bottom two middle cubbies house my pen boxes, and my Tarot cards live here too.

3/ … of the pattern and began figuring out how to stitch on linen.

Yup, this is my first cross-stitch whip on linen! And I’m not exactly making it easy on myself… I’m making this: www.makeitpink.net/product-page...

1/ I managed to screw up my sleep schedule again, so I read through the rest of The Testaments by Margaret Atwood once it became apparent that sleep wasn't happening.

The Testaments sheds more light on the inner workings of Gilead, specifically from the POV of Aunt Lydia. Yes, *that* Aunt Lydia.

At PopCon Indy two weeks ago, I attended every authors panel available, and took notes. Time to transcribe them into a notebook to keep.

2/ I also ended up picking, starting and finishing A Thief in the Night by @kjcharleswriter.com this evening, for prompt 45 - Author Releases More Than One Book a Year.

This one was a fun, fast read that was full of charm and heart. Another wonderful story by Charles...

2/ Instead of all the responsible things I should have done, I spent most of the afternoon reading The Bones Beneath My Skin by TJ Klune.

While it wasn't as emotionally devastating as other books by Klune, it was still a wonderful, ultimately hopeful read. There is such emotional honesty in...

1/ Finally done with catching up on my book journal, so I figured I'd post about the book that made me go, "Yeah, that's too many books to write up now. Best get it done!"

Earlier today, I finished reading Pan's Labyrinth by Guillermo del Toro and Cornelia Funke.

Y’all, my nerdiness knows no bounds…

I discovered Vazir Fountain Pens on eBay, and was curious enough to look them up. (www.vazirfountainpens.com)

Silly, silly me, because I couldn’t resist a hand-engraved nib, and their Pi pen in plum.

1/ My new customized Writewell from Good Made Better (goodmadebetter.com/products/wri...) arrived this morning, and I’m so thrilled!

I discovered Good Made Better at the 2025 Chicago Pen Show, and was instantly tempted. However, I wanted to really think about the options I wanted.
