Mission accomplished thanks to Black Lion Games in Edinburgh! Hmm. I hope the final project that was missing this piece doesn’t get me into trouble. It’s being made with absolute affection and reverence for a legally actionable thing. We’ll see, I guess!

Just a couple of big BEOWULF landscape paintings that are kinda mood right now.
Three early medieval style friendos with helmets and spears regard a wide, cold looking landscape. In the midground is a burial mound. The barrow scene from “The Northman” is deffo going to happen there. Two figures and their dog proceed into a large mountainous landscape of delicate purples and yellows. They’re thinking about where to build their home.

Random but: the amazing thing about making art for your own games, whether you consider yourself an artist or not, is that as soon as you make a piece of art? You are an artist. Whether you’re a “good artist” is entirely out of your hands, and always will be. All you can do is throw yourself at it.

Oh here’s a nice one for Halloween. I painted this one some years back, over a sadly unknown-to-me artist’s pencils, for Wychwood Brewery. It appeared as a full page ad in The Guardian.

Each piece is on a layer so the whole thing can be animated.

One of the many self inflicted problems that I encounter in life is the habit of SOMEONE to dump an elaborate set up for product photography in the photography zone and then swan off out of work, making it a tomorrow problem. Well it is tomorrow and I absolutely suck.
