For context, when I was in the Army, we had 8 weeks of basic training, but that was just to prepare for advanced training--about another 20 weeks, in my case. LAPD spend 6 months in the academy, followed by 18 months of probationary service under the supervision of a training officer.

Like ICE isn't already bad enough. I was just reading where they've dropped the training time for new recruits from 13 weeks (which was already too short) to just 6 weeks.
