Any idea what the penultimate word might be? This is an RAF Navigator's diary from 1941. I cannot show more handwriting examples just now but I cannot work out what this place is. Begins with G and ends with -den? I've been Googling and looking at coastal maps of West Europe but nothing.

If you've ever read this book as spoken word, chances are you too have felt like you're in the vow renewal episode of Gavin & Stacey or the Chardonnay funeral episode of Footballers' Wives

A post by Edinburgh City Archives about an enquiry received about the Nor Loch, regarding the ritual of "dooking" or ducking people for various misdemeanors. The image in the post is a page of a book giving an order of the Town Council from 1562, stating "Fornicators. Order to duck them in North Loch, 3ip, 22 May 1562" Another of the pages giving the order The text from the post reads "The images show the entry from the index and the minute regarding the building of a jib which would hoist people up and swing out over the loch to duck them in! On that date, Robert Glen, the bailie for the administrative district which the North Loch was part of, was instructed by the council to: ‘sycht and consider ane plaice maist apt and abill thairto in the North Loch for dowkeing of the saidis fornicatouris thairin, being ane pullie, and the same being fund, ordains the thesaurar Luce Wilson, to repare red and dress the said hole’ This refers to a pulley system, rather like an old single swing derrick for hoisting cargo ashore at a dockside. The jib could swing out over the water/shore by means of two guy ropes, one attached to either side of the jib. Thanks to David Jamieson and Kevin Hall (University of Edinburgh) for the transcription."

On Taskmaster S9E1. My "Most Stressful" Prize Task entry would be an hour-long video of a Messenger conversation: a friend's asked if you can talk, you say "sure, everything okay?", and then you wait as a little notification says "is typing..." (and does so for the duration of the video)

Half of the lifts to get out of Edinburgh Waverley are broken. The other exits lead to hills that hurt for me to walk on. I have a heavy pushchair and a toddler and can't get up the stairs. So I guess I live in the station now. (No but seriously what the hell am I meant to do?)

This poster about being autistic and visiting the GP is helpful BUT putting it in a waiting room/on a patient noticeboard when it is clearly aimed at staff...not helpful. I spent 5 minutes trying to work out how to implement these suggestions. I'm a patient.

I filled an A6 journal within a month!

(I've been more successful with keeping up with journals if I have a small one with me wherever I go - if I lose it, I don't lose my entire past few months/couple of years).

#DoctorWho fans - I have a model TARDIS (formerly a bird feeder) that I am fixing up. Each side is going to have one of these (Bad Wolf graffiti, Clara memorial, 'The Giggle' hahaha's). What should be on the fourth side? I was thinking a representation of the Van Gogh exploding TARDIS somehow.
