I am starting to miss the former roundabout. There were some shrubs at least. (And a convenient place to contain demonstrators, everybody was happy)

Truth being that without FR+DE (and others) projects, as well as EU projects for the Space part, we would be nowhere today.

And the outcome of these projects are great. Tiger, A400M and even NH90 (at least the TTC I know ) are great.

Hell, we love to hate Ariane but we would be stupid to kill it.

My one-cent assumption is that, on both DE and FR sides, people are starting to convince themselves that:
- that have been knived in each project “I brought my assets/knowledge for a ridiculous workshare”
- they would be better off going standalone. “I can develop a fighter/launcher/frigate alone”

Since the creation of EADS, we have let a lot of frustration, most often stemming from a misrepresentation of reality, take over the conversation.

I could write 1000 pages on this bursts of frustration, within industry and public sector. Most of them start from a true fact, distorted.

This is why I talk about obligations vis-à-vis the Region. (And why technically this could be considered as a collusion between two distinct operators 😋)

I wonder whether this would not constitute a breach to Competition law. “I have a very good Grandes Lignes product, and a mediocre TER. To ensure that I meet my obligations vis a vis the Region, I will orient my customers towards TER”

Quelle souplesse.

Why not, simply, the Belgian federal government ?

Why the need to go for foreign authorities ?

And yet Morocco manages to maintain excellent relations with Russia. And Ukraine.
L’Occident compliqué 😊

Algeria (and the socialist side until 1989) wanted to have an access to the Atlantic Ocean. Western Sahara offers 1 100km of coasts.

Algerian officers of the 1980’s studied in USSR. This is their textbook Donbass/Transinistria/Abkhazia.

Algeria has been arming and funding the separatist Frente Polisario since 1975, at that time with the support of the USSR, Cuba, and Libya
