The invocation of the AEA is another example of the escalation of authoritarianism displayed by this administration. As a war-time power, it has been used in the past to forcibly incarcerate immigrant populations, profoundly impacting thousands of lives.
This unprecedented and dangerous use of the Alien Enemies Act sets a perilous example that undermines fundamental civil liberties, due process, international human rights, and public trust in the United States military.

President Trump's comments on trans men and women in sports are disingenuous and dangerous. These policies are nothing more than an attack on our #LGBTQ+ students, athletes, and communities. Trans rights are human rights.

Trump's claim that he will restore "true democracy to America again" was followed immediately by a truly undemocratic promise to remove his detractors. This is not democracy. This reeks of authoritarianism.

Last week, President Trump weaponized the fatal plane crash in DC to promote his anti-trans agenda. I spoke to NPR about this incident and how this is part of a larger fascist strategy to turn the nation against our own citizens.
