Danielle Smith represents the oil and gas industry. Not Albertans. Appeasement is not the answer. The majority of Albertans love Canada, don't want to separate and care about the health of the planet. The oil and gas lobby is powerful but, you were elected to represent us not them.

As an Albertan, I ask you to stop appeasing Danielle Smith and her government. They are currently dismantling our democracy in this province, imposing two tier health care, using the nonwithstanding clause against its citizens, undermining public education, and the rights of workers.

To be truly independent, we should be using taxpayer dollars to develop energy that relies on wind, solar, and geothermal.

As an Albertan, I am sooooo disappointed and angry about this decision. Why are you trying to appease a provincial government that is behaving like an autocratic regime? What happened to your understanding of the climate crisis?

I miss the days when the provincial NDP actually stood up for the planet. We cannot continue to rely on fossil fuels if we hope to have a livable environment for future generations. With all due respect, please respect the science. Or refer to Alberta wildfires/droughts for some perpective...

YIKES! KEYSTONE PIPELINE??? There were wildfires burning all across Canada this summer...remember climate change, PM Carney and the need to dramatically reduce greenhouse gases? Extremely dismayed by the decision to reopen this discussion.
