NOI completely disbanded as Warith D Muhammad took the congregation to Sunnism (1975). Farakhan latter on (1978) revived the movement without continuity, creating a schism. The NOI we see today is a far cry from the NOI of the 60s. I used to live in Hyde Park, Chicago blocks from Farakhan.
