Unfortunate that SE had to be the company that discovered Stated vs Revealed Preferences for the "I want x with y for z meme".

With this golden age over, it's now time for them to do the best possible thing post VII Part 3: 2 Fabula 2 Nova (features 13-4, XV Nomura's Cut, and a random Tabata game)

Thank you, so, so fucking much. I'm doing the working holiday next year and this is an incredible all in one guide that I'm 100% gonna be referring to. Already put some important notes in my mega document

As someone literally about to apply for the working holiday visa this all in one guide came at the absolutely perfect time, thank you very much!

Also fasincating to see this in motorsport. iirc over half of all Formula 1 races where every car has finished has been in the last 5 years. Same with the yearly retirement % at the 24 Hours of Le Mans - way down from even 30 years ago.

Technology has advanced a lot more than we think!

Umineko needs a hidden path which just turns into The Count of Monte Cristo, using dialogue from the novel and everything. Might be the only way to get the gamers into literature

Another fantastic example of "internet narrative" taking over traditional narrative and cutting facts - youtubers pushing Earthbound as this "cult classic". It sold absolute shit in the West! It was too small to even start a cult!

AI is a bubble - I think parts of it are, but if you only consume doomer content about it, you'll overestimate + want it to be

Japan hates foreigners - found a club on Resident Advisor in 5 mins that lets foreigners in for free

the UK is a hellhole - there are issues, but no, not THAT bad

I do enjoy New Vegas, but I agree - it's unique, but you really can't play it like a traditional RPG a la Elder Scrolls (which is far more possible with 3 and especially 4). I will say I actually prefer 3's side quests to 4's and its setting too, although I still like 4 a lot
December 19, 2025 at 7:19 PM
Agreed. I realised Fallout 4 was actually good when I realised quite early on you simply cannot play it like its New Vegas, and enjoyed it a LOT for what it was. Outside of that, Witcher 3 and Dirt Rally my top 3.

Yeah I fucking hate it, as one of the younger (lol just turned 30) people still using text base financial social media I'm mindblown how negative it is even in America (more understandable over here). Housing is a huge issue but I really think social media lifestyle creep is deluding people

oh baby my masters degree in finance (I'm in pensions dw I'm not THAT evil) coming into use let's read this report.

Lots of comparisons to Capcom wait LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO this is premium hating

Oh now they're asking for a cross-media strategy. Announce Versus XIII as anime

the metaverse sunk cost fallacy finally going away? interesting

they'll be changing their ticker to SLOP at this rate considering the last time I checked Facebook it seemed to only exist to recommend me me AI generated pictures

congratulations on inventing Kojima Hearts with a movie game in a compilation

Can (unfortunately) also be applied to politics to. Was having a chat with parents the other day about how the poll tax riots basically brought Thatcher down. Can't even imagine people rioting about taxation in the modern politics as culture war age

As a Gen Zer I must admit the first time I ever heard this song was on Guitar Hero 2. It's early on in the setlist, and it's a (pretty good actually!) cover.

Was blown away by the mystical lyricism and stunningly beautiful piano/guitar lines, have loved it ever since.

For my side stuff (Japanese value investing analysis because I am certifiably insane) I find Perplexity Pro seems to be the best LLM at analysing both macro conditions and companies themselves

Claude to me seems to be much tougher to prompt - I've gotten similar mistakes to this as well.

>Check nominations to see the Keighley Zeitgeist (a terrible phrase)
>Check the awards sale on Steam to pick up anything I've been interested in for cheaper
>Do not actually vote or watch the awards while avoiding all discourse about it

The way!

Feels like the strength of the market in general is worse the more I feel like I have to say bounces are due to retail degens because I can't see any other potential reasons at all

The one DJ who I respect for never veering away from trance music even when loads of others jumped ship (Armin van Buuren) got paid six figures a night to DJ at Vegas and said on a podcast its the most depressing place he's played at

Everyone knows its fake. This guy's right but its 2025 mate

youth unemployment is seriously worrying to me and especially over here in the UK where it keeps ticking up. We're approaching 1 million NEETS for the first time in a while and a lot are becoming long term in their 20s

Yes, signaling is an excellent word to use here. Even saw Marx' Blank Space referenced earlier today and I think that's tackling the pop culture question.

Subcultureaesthetics have always been a thing, but now it happens so fast and is global that it can't really go anywhere else after this
November 6, 2025 at 6:42 PM
I don't think it's homogenization, but maybe flattening is a more accurate term? Have been thinking about this with regards to many other things surrounding pop culture, travel preferences, "overtourism" etc
